Katara said, " My grandmother used to tell me stories about the old days, a time of peace, when the avatar kept balanced between water tribes, earth kingdoms, fire nation, and air nomads. But that all changed when the fire nation attacked. Only the avatar masters all four elements, only he could stop the ruthless firebenders. But when the world needed him most, he vanished.

A hundred years have passed and the fire nation is near in victory in the war. Two years ago, my father and the men of my tribe journeyed to the earth kingdom to help fight against the fire nation, leaving me and my brother to look after our tribe. Some people believe that the avatar was never reborn into the air nomads and that the cycle was broken. But I haven't lost hope. I still believe that somehow, the avatar would return to save the world."

She only said that by the very first episode, before they found Aang. But as their story continues, by the  following episodes, Katara would always start it with this..

"Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when the fire nation attacked. Only the avatar, master of all four elements could stop them. But when the world needed him most, he vanished.

A hundred years passed when my brother and I discovered the new avatar, an airbender named Aang. And although his airbending skills were great, he has a lot to learn before he's ready to save anyone. But I believe, Aang can save the world."

For those who have been watching the series, Avatar, the Legend of Aang, or the Last Airbender...

WHO WOULD EVER HATE AANG?!?!?! :D

While as for me, Aang is indeed the cutest and the coolest 12 year old slash superhero across the animation world. Although he's bald, he has this arrow tattoo on his head and some other parts of his body, which makes all the airbenders way cuter and unique. Too bad the rest of the airbenders were extinct because of the firebenders' ruthlessness, Aang is indeed the last airbender. Curse you fire nation!

Anyway, from Katara said, I think that could serve as a review for the whole story. :)
